Who We Are

412 Communications builds bridges between brands and their audiences. While our background screams sports, we have worked with a host of companies and individuals in an array of industries.

Our team’s 40+ combined years of experience in myriad media formats — broadcast, print, digital, and beyond — means you get a comprehensive array of services.

This ranges from developing your broadcast from concept to game day production; to copywriting, designing, and editing your print publications; to managing your online presence from strategy to implementation. We can also produce and voice your ads, write and record your original music, and provide administrative support as needed.

You have a choice in media agencies and we honour the trust you place in us. Our client roster is intentionally small so you get the attention you deserve. And while we've been working with clients fully remote before it became the cool thing to do, we are physically present on both coasts.

Let's collaborate over a cup of coffee — literally or virtually — today.

James Witherite
Founder, Partner, Swiss army knife

James Witherite may have departed the Steel City in 2007, but his Pittsburgh roots left an indelible and unparalleled work ethic and authenticity.

An accomplished sports broadcaster, producer, writer, and musician, James is uniquely versatile. His print media roots run deep: Having started in the sports department at the DuBois, Pa., Courier-Express in 2001, James is the current editor of the United States Trotting Association's nationally-distributed Hoof Beats magazine. Career highlights along the way include creating, curating, and editing digital content for a variety of outlets, and spending over 15 years on the air and behind the scenes broadcasting horses and hockey throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Outside the media world, James serves as the public address announcer (and organist!) for several scholastic, junior, and collegiate sports teams in Delaware and Pennsylvania, and also referees youth hockey. He has also released four albums of original music, composed a mass, and has shared the bandstand with legendary musicians such as Danny Seraphine (Chicago), Gerald Veasley, and Sean Jones.

As one of the few female clockers in the Thoroughbred industry with an eye honed growing up on horseback, Molly Jo has had bylines in the New York Times and Southern Gaming Magazine, and is a go-to expert on all things racing for several NBC-TV affiliates as well as FoxSportsRadio and ESPN-Radio. She is also an on-call digital and fan education ambassador for racetracks and media outlets, including being the only American journalist sent to cover Latin America’s biggest race. Away from racing, Molly Jo consults on digital strategy and crisis communications, and has developed the accounting departments at companies big and small.
